Confirm eligibility, supervision, recording rules, and the required signatures with guidance. Rare recording exceptions must be agreed between the school and student and documented.
Learn safely. Give your time.
All meetings must be recorded. Peerly verifies session evidence; your school decides which volunteer hours count.
Every meeting must be recorded. Agreeing to Peerly’s policy includes agreeing to session recording for safety and volunteer-hour review. If recording is off or stops, leave the meeting. Unrecorded meetings earn no Peerly-eligible volunteer hours, except for a documented exception agreed between the school and student and verified by admin.
Keep your camera off until your tutor turns theirs on, speaks, and confirms you are the learner booked for the session. You can keep your camera off after that, too. Never show identity documents.
Use your school-approved meeting and storage tools. Tell everyone whether audio, video, screen sharing and chat are captured. Participants agree to recording when they accept our policy. Under-18 participants must also have parent or guardian permission under Peerly’s policy. Announce recording before it starts; never record secretly or continue if someone objects. Recordings must stay private.

Accept Peerly’s policy, including session recording. Use a school-approved platform, announce what is captured, and have guardian permission for under-18 participants.
Record the actual tutoring minutes and submit a restricted recording link. Admin reviews the evidence, and the learner confirms the session and recording.
Export only eligible sessions after evidence verification and learner confirmation. Complete your school’s official form and obtain the required signatures.
If a session is not recorded, or the recording stops, leave the meeting. It cannot receive Peerly-eligible volunteer hours. A rare exception needs a documented decision from the school and student, then admin verification. A tutor cannot approve their own exception.
Recording is Peerly’s verification policy, not a promise of official school credit. TDSB lists peer tutoring as an approved activity, subject to its requirements. Other schools or boards may follow different processes.

Wait until your tutor turns their camera on, speaks, and confirms you are the learner booked for that session using your first name and session details. You may keep your camera off afterward. Do not show identity documents or reveal your address.
By agreeing to Peerly’s policy, you agree to session recording for safety and volunteer-hour review. The tutor must announce what the platform captures: audio, video, shared screen and chat as applicable. Stop if anyone objects or withdraws agreement. Never record secretly.
Email peerlyadmin@gmail.com with the username, session date and a description. Confirmed misuse or harassment results in account and IP bans and permanent account deletion after admin review. You can also request a review of a moderation decision there.
No harassment, fees, or assignment completion. Create your own thumbnail. Record only time you taught; confirm only sessions you attended. Leave anything that feels unsafe and tell a trusted adult.

Peerly does not host, start, or automatically detect meeting recordings. Tutors use a school-approved meeting platform and restricted storage. Share evidence only with the participants, Peerly admin at peerlyadmin@gmail.com, and authorized school reviewers as needed. Never publish the recording, use an “anyone with the link” setting, or send passwords.
Peerly stores the evidence link, policy acceptance records, review notes, and session record; the recording remains with its storage owner. Under Peerly’s policy, the storage owner should delete it within 30 days after the school’s final review, unless a documented school requirement or unresolved complaint requires retention. School and storage-provider rules also apply.
Contact peerlyadmin@gmail.com for recording-access, correction, consent-withdrawal, or deletion requests. Requests involving other participants need review to protect their privacy. Admin-only account/IP records support moderation; minimal ban and audit records remain after an account is deleted.
Accounts are for students 13+. Under-18 students must involve a parent or guardian. Tutors are peers and are not independently vetted. Public profiles show your username, display name, profile picture, thumbnail, and offer; your account email is visible only to you and Peerly’s account-support administrator.
